Discover The West Mill
The West Mill is a truly unique Derby wedding venue set in a Grade I Listed, former cotton spinning mill. Dating back to the early 1800’s, the building played an important part in the history of the industrial revolution.
Having laid empty and derelict for many years the building was lovingly restored back to life and opened in 2015. The renovation has retained the industrial architecture of the 1800’s, creating a striking backdrop for your wedding day. Barrel vaulted ceilings, exposed brick walls, cast iron columns and beams create the ultimate wow factor.
Occupying a superb setting on the banks of the River Derwent and the historic weir, The West Mill is set in the heart of Darley Abbey, Derbyshire and is ready to host your dream day.

Our History
Having laid derelict for many years, the building was lovingly restored back to life in 2015 to be an exclusive use Derby wedding venue. During the renovation we were sure to retain all the charm of the industrial architecture of the 1800’s, making The West Mill the perfect backdrop for your wedding day. Think bare bricks walls, barrel vaulted ceilings and Georgian windows drenching your wedding day in sunlight.
