Your Love Story – How did you meet, was it love at first sight? Tell us about the proposal!
We knew each other from school. Didn’t speak until after school (2014). Then we used to text but never met up. Eventually met up in 2019! Remained friends until 2021, when we finally became more than friends haha! Kieran proposed in between Christmas and new year in 2023, exactly 4 years to the day from when we first met up.
Your Wedding Day Vision & Inspiration What was your inspiration and vision for your day?
We loved the rustic look of the venue, so we didn’t want to use too much décor. We always wanted our dog involved somehow, so there were bits of décor which included her. Navy suits we thought were smart and dusty blue for bridesmaids.
Why did you choose The West Mill Venue?
The West Mill was the only venue we viewed – it was just perfect! The different floors for each part of the day, the rustic vibe and the views (the picture potential was amazing).

Did you do any DIY projects?
We didn’t do much DIY!
Tell us about the details – Flowers, Cake, Decor, Stationery….
Flowers were from Simply Flowers. We wanted daffodils (they were my Nana’s favourite flower, we lost her in 2021) and white roses (they were Kieran’s Grandma’s favourite flower, they lost her in 2012). Gyps have always been a favourite of mine! Then greenery. They were better than I’d ever imagined. Tara Knott did the top of the aisle, the witness table and the top table. Then added fabric to our tables. We used pictures of our dog for the tables; she’s our baby!
Alcohol. Because No Great Story Started With A Salad (…or did it?) What was on your food & drinks menu?
We had the onion bhaji for starter, chicken roast for main and white chocolate and raspberry blondie. Had so many nice comments about the food, everyone loved it!
The Hangover Only Lasts A Day But The Memories Last A Lifetime Can you sum up your wedding day in 3 words?
Emotional, happy, content.
What are your favourite memories or highlights of your day?
Getting ready with my girls, first look with my dad and the party! At the end of the party it was only us, parents, and the wedding party left. Got to spend the last hour just us and had a boogie to Sweet Caroline at the end.
Do you have any advice for future Brides & Grooms?
Just enjoy it! We weren’t as nervous as we thought we’d be. Take it all in and make the most of everyone you love being around you. You will watch the videos and photos back non-stop! Highly recommend a content creator to capture the little moments you don’t see (and ones you want to re watch).
