Your Love Story – how did you meet, was it love at first sight? Tell us about the proposal!
We were next door neighbours in 2014, and then neighbours again in 2021 (having both moved out and back into the same houses). We bonded over our shared love of terrible jokes, useless facts, and obscure TV shows.
We got engaged in 2023, in Amsterdam, shortly after our 2 year anniversary.
Your Wedding Day Vision & Inspiration What was your inspiration and vision for your day?
Floral and unique, an intimate celebration with our closest family and friends.
Why did you choose The West Mill Venue?
The West Mill suited our décor and our vision for our day perfectly. It could not have been more well suited to what we wanted. The staff were all so genuine and down to earth, and didn’t try and force anything on us. They let The West Mill sell itself to us. Everyone we met seemed so passionate about us having the best wedding day and being able to provide that to us, instead of other venues we viewed where it cost extra for table linens/cutlery/glasses. The West Mill truly is the whole package.

Did you do any DIY projects?
Every floral arrangement, display and bouquet was handmade by Jade’s wonderful grandmother.
The signage, place cards, menus, and invitations were all DIY’d.

The Hangover Only Lasts A Day But The Memories Last A Lifetime Can you sum up your wedding day in 3 words?
Relaxed, emotional and memorable
What are your favourite memories or highlights of your day?
We had a sweetheart table for the wedding breakfast, and it meant we got time to just be with each other and talk about the ceremony/our mornings.
Also, staying at The Mill House with our family, and having breakfast together the next day.
Do you have any advice for future Brides & Grooms?
Don’t get too caught up in the details, as you probably won’t see some of them anyway. Laugh when things go wrong, and enjoy the day.
