Your Love Story How did you meet, was it love at first sight? Tell us about the proposal!
Thomas and Dani met in 2010 at friend’s birthday party, it was love at first sight for him! He finally wore her down and Dani admitted defeat! We were together for 11 years and on our 11th anniversary (in lockdown) Thomas proposed in the kitchen using our beloved dog Tinkerbell as a decoy!
Your Wedding Day Vision & Inspiration What was your inspiration and vision for your day?
Woodland leaves and Country! We wanted a day that represented our love for many themes, including Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and in a simplistic style we orchestrated them all together! We wanted to finish the evening in true country style and provided cowboy/girl hats as our favours to our guests.
Why did you choose The West Mill Venue?
We attended a wedding 2017, as soon as we saw the venue we fell in love. Quote “If we ever get married, it’ll only be here”. We never looked at another venue <3
Did you do any DIY projects?
Dani: Bridal flowers and table decorations
Lloyd (Best man): Seating arrangement, Backdrop, Name Cards and Table Quotes
Helen (Mother of the Groom): Memory Table
Tell us about the details – Flowers, Cake, Decor, Stationary….
Flowers: Eucalyptus, leaf stems and white roses.
Décor: Wood/Sage and leaf vines with white roses. We created a cosy ambiance with battery operated candles. Tables were glittered with leaf/wood confetti and wooden coasters.
Alcohol. Because No Great Story Started With A Salad (…or did it?) What was on your food & drinks menu?
Food: Canapés! Our wedding breakfast included, Starter: Goats Cheese Tart, Main: Beef, Dessert: Brownie. To finish the evening we had chicken wings and nachos… great finger food!
Alcohol: We wanted our guests to enjoy our favourite drinks! This included Corona beers, Gin & Tonic, Prosecco, Casillero Del Diablo wine and Coca Cola!
The Hangover Only Lasts A Day But The Memories Last A Lifetime Can you sum up your wedding day in 3 words?
Love. Happiness. Unforgettable!
What are your favourite memories or highlights of your day?
Getting ready with our parties in the morning, we just had lots of fun and giggles with our bestest friends.! Meeting at the alter and leaving as Husband and Wife! The speeches, in particular the Best men… Real or No Real?! The band were insane and we just danced the night away yehaw!
Do you have any advice for future Brides & Grooms?
Go with your gut! Have the things you enjoy and everyone else will follow and love!
