5 Reasons Not to Miss Our Taster Evenings

When you book your wedding here at The West Mill one of the many things you can look forward to is attending one of our complimentary wedding taster evenings. For many, the food plays a huge part in the wedding planning and that’s why we give you the chance to come and see, taste and experience the food ahead of the big day. But it’s not just about the food, you’ll also meet the events and our catering team, be inspired by the venue styling and suppliers and also meet other couples who are marrying with us.

We love hosting the taster evenings and we hope you enjoy your visit when the time comes, in the meantime here are a few more things you can look forward to, we’ve also answered some frequently asked questions for you too.

Get All Dressed Up

We love to give you ideas on how to dress the venue which is why at out taster events we dress each floor as though it were a wedding day to inspire you for your own. We often collaborate with fabulous local suppliers too, from florists to stationers, specialist hire companies and entertainment, you may just find your dream team all under one roof.

Great Atmosphere

With a glass of fizz in one hand and a canapé in the other, there is always a real buzz around The West Mill at our taster days as couples explore the venue with friends and families. We often have live music playing on arrival and a pianist in The Cotton Quarter so you can really appreciate the acoustics of the room.  We know that it can be quite difficult to imagine what 80+ people can look like so when everyone takes their seats to dine, you’ll get a feel for what The Breakfast Room could look like on your day. It’s also a fab chance to chat with other couples about their wedding planning experiences and swap ideas and inspiration.

Meet The Team

Our taster evenings are also a great opportunity to meet the whole West Mill Events Team. We’ll be on hand to answer any questions you may have and we’ll never pass at the chance to have a great wedding catch up! It’s also nice to put a face to the name so that when the invitation to your planning meeting comes along, you’ll know who is taking care of your special day. As well as meeting #teamwestmill you’ll also meet the catering team. From the serving staff to the catering managers and coordinators, you’ll be able to chat all things food and it’s the perfect chance to see it all in action.

Food For Thought

Let’s face it, this is the main event! Once you have taken your seats on The Breakfast Floor, it’s time for the tasting to commence. You’ll be served three starters, mains and desserts in a sharing style for you try amongst your table and at the beginning of each course a member of the catering team will come and chat through the different dishes. The food served may not be what you have chosen for your wedding breakfast but it’s a still a great opportunity to taste and see how the food is presented. If you haven’t finalised your menu, the taster day will hopefully give you a boost of inspiration and we’d recommend bringing a little notebook and pen so you can take some ‘tasting notes’ about the food served on the day.

Pop, Fizz, Clink!

Who doesn’t love a bit of wine and fizz tasting? In The Breakfast Room there’ll be a wine tasting table set up with a wide range of drinks available to purchase from our cellar. The West Mill Team will be on hand to answer your questions about the wines available and discuss how you can order your drinks through ourselves for your wedding day as part of your no corkage.
