Real Wedding at The West Mill Venue, Derbyshire
Your Love Story?
We met on a night out in Nottingham. Claire saw me cutting shapes on the dance floor, obviously liked what she saw …shimmied over to me …and the rest is history.
The proposal I knew had to be something pretty special and what I realised is how special things can get when you pop the question after cooking Claire the best steak she’s ever had …have a little dance together …read her a cheesy poem …and got down on one knee
And that day was the happiest day of my life, because in that moment I knew the most special person I had ever met was going to be part of it forever.
What was your inspiration and vision for your day?
We wanted a neutral and rustic themed wedding, Elder & Wild together with The Rustic Wedding Company delivered that perfectly.
Why did you choose The West Mill Venue?
The moment we walked into the venue we just knew it was perfect for our vision of our wedding. We loved how the whole day was to flow, each floor having its own purpose.
And booking the Mill House was just the perfect addition to the whole package.
Did you do any DIY projects?
A friend made fairy lights in gin bottles for the reception room and the favours were personalised M&Ms.

What was your favourite part of the wedding?
We were very lucky to have the day we had considering the pandemic, lifting of restrictions came at the perfect time and everyone was able to let their hair down and have fun.
Do you have any advice for future brides & grooms?
Advice given to us was to take a minute every now and then and take it all in because it really does go quick and we stand by this.
