Your Love Story?

We met at school & have been together since year 10 when we were 14 years old! Calum proposed Christmas 2014 in our home. 

 

What was your inspiration and vision for your day?

We loved the idea of having foliage everywhere! With a touch of the industrial vibe too. 

Why did you choose The West Mill Venue?

It worked so well with our idea for an industrial wedding & the layout was so different to any other venue!

Did you do any DIY projects?

Our best man made our centre peices & wooden post box. One of the other lads helped with our back drop. We made our seating plan, hot chocolate bar, booze bath and other things ourselves. 

Tell us about the details…

Our flowers were themed from one picture of a bouquet Emma found on Pinterest, we showed it to Amy at Polka Dot & the rest she came up with herself! She got it exactly right we so happy with everything! The cakes were made by our friends Joanne and Tasha as we knew these were the ladies for the job! We didn’t want a wedding cake as we wanted something different & knew that we couldn’t just choose one of Joanne’s cakes because they’re all amazing! The dress was from Lori Gs in Alestree and I honestly couldn’t recommend the ladies enough! They made me feel like I was the only girl to ever get married! They all made it such an amazing experience & Holly the seamstress was incredible! Matt Moore our photographer was also a huge part of our day, we had given just a couple of group shots we were wanting and the rest we were just wanting natural shots. He was such a calming and lovely person to have around on our special day and the photos are fab!! 

 

What was on the Menu?

We knew it was going to be a party so we had to get the drinks right! So a booze bath was a must have! Morretti & Peroni were the main beers. Then we also had Pimms & Prosecco & a hot chocolate bar. The wedding breakfast was mango & brie parcels (which were absolutely amazing!), blade of beef with fondant potato, honey glazed parsnips and samphire, then warm chocolate brownie & raspberry ice cream for dessert. It all went down a treat! 

 

What was your favourite part of the wedding?

We can’t say we have one favourite part because it was all so amazing! But hearing all of our family and friends saying how much of a good day it was & never wanted it to finish showed how brilliant it was from start to finish. The outcome was best… we’re married!!

Do you have any advice for future brides & grooms?

Enjoy every second because it goes so fast! Try to remember individual moments that will stay in your memory forever! Definitely remember to let your hair down in those last few hours! Enjoy dancing the night away with the people who love you most!

 

Can you sum up your wedding day in 3 words?

One huge party!
