COVID-19 UPDATE

We are pleased to announce that we are now able to undertake private, socially distanced viewings of The West Mill Venue for those wishing to marry in 2022 and beyond.

As the UK Government is gradually lifting restrictions, and the talks of advances in a vaccine are circulating, we are hopeful that these positive steps forward mean The West Mill is close to reopening its doors for our weddings to go ahead soon.

Understandably, we are being presented with many queries and worries around the possibility of weddings commencing under the potential restrictions of social distancing and quantities of social gatherings that could be enforced as the Government slowly lifts lockdown.

We are working with our couples to provide them with alternative solutions for their wedding day, based on the most recent Government Guidance. At this time, we are unable to speculate on how these current restrictions may be lifted as the possible future outcomes are endless. This does make decision making extremely hard, but our utmost priority is making sure our couples, their guests and our staff are safe and we will communicate any updates as soon as we possibly can.

So what happens now…?

We are keeping up to date with the current Government guidance and whilst this does make decision making extremely hard, our utmost priority is making sure our couples, their guests and our staff are safe and we will communicate any updates as soon as we possibly can. We are aiming to reopen to host weddings as soon as we are allowed to, and are currently working towards reopening.

Booked Weddings

Due to the amount of weddings we have coming into our peak season we have to work as fairly and methodically as we can. The team are contacting our couples in a chronological date order as to whether they’d like to continue or explore alternative options for their wedding.

As of 15th August 2020, wedding ceremonies and wedding receptions are allowed to take place with 30 guests, and we are now able to host weddings for 30 guests should our couples like to continue with their original wedding date. However, we appreciate this reduced wedding option may not be the wedding day originally planned and would not be suitable for all of our couples. Therefore, should your wedding be confirmed as being directly affected by our closure or limitations of our ability to operate, we will contact you in a chronological date order with as much notice as possible prior to your wedding date to discuss the available options. We will continue to postpone weddings for as long as the current global situation dictates that this is a necessary measure.

Our current target is to contact people approximately 8 weeks in advance wherever possible, however we do need to retain fluidity and this timescale may be subject to change as the pandemic progresses and government approach changes. We will keep you updated as soon as we are given any further guidance or insights.

We’d like to thank you for your continued patience at this time whilst we work as rapidly as we can to administer the changes. We hope you can appreciate and understand this is the fairest way to work through this unprecedented situation. We will be in contact as soon as we possibly can to offer you a postponement date should your current wedding date be directly affected so we can get your wedding plans back on track.

Planning Meetings

As our team is working remotely during lockdown, we may need to conduct your planning meetings virtually via video call or telephone. Your allocated event manager will be in touch to arrange a planning meeting appointment that suits you.

At this time, planning meetings will need to take place around 2 months before your wedding date to discuss all of your wedding details. Please do not hesitate to contact us via email if you wish to ask any queries prior to your meeting.

If you would like to familiarise yourself with the venue, we may be able to arrange a tour for you at a time that suits you. Drop us an email at events@thewestmillvenue.com
