Following on from the Government’s announcement on Monday 22nd February, it has been confirmed that some wedding restrictions will be in place until 20th June 2021, with 21st June 2021 being the earliest date that all restrictions will be lifted. Within this timeframe there are 4 steps in which restrictions will start to be eased. These are as follows:

8th March 2021 – 6 people can attend a Ceremony, Receptions are not allowed

12th April 2021 – 15 people to attend Ceremony and Reception

17th May 2021 – 30 people to attend a Ceremony and Reception

21st June 2021 – Weddings can take place without restrictions

We are so pleased that the Government has finally given us a clear roadmap out of lockdown. Although we have received confirmation that these deadlines are the earliest each step will be lifted, we will continue to remain positive, and continue to find the best solution for our couples. Currently, we are due to work with all of our couples up until the 20th June 2021 as directed by the Government. Should we receive further information from the Government as that weddings past this date may be affected, we will be in touch as soon as we possibly can. 

We have hosted smaller weddings for 15 and 30 guests following Government Guidance, and it has been so great to welcome back our wonderful couples, and their guests, back to The West Mill Venue. So what happens now…? 

We are keeping up to date with the current Government guidance and we want to reassure you that our utmost priority is making sure our couples, their guests and our staff are safe and we will communicate any updates as soon as we possibly can.

Booked Weddings

Due to the amount of weddings we have booked, we have to work as fairly and methodically as we can. Therefore, the team is contacting our couples in a chronological date order as to whether they’d like to continue on their original wedding date, or explore alternative options for their wedding day. Currently, we are eagerly awaiting the full wedding guidance to be published on the Government website.

Should we receive information that your wedding date will be directly affected by the pandemic and severe restrictions are predicted to be in place, we will contact you with any alternative solutions. We are not forcing our couples to go ahead with their wedding dates if there is a guest limit of 15 or 30, as we acknowledge that this isn’t what our couples had originally planned for. Should we be forced to limit guests numbers, and you wish to continue with your wedding date, we would be more than happy to host this for you and discuss this with you in more detail. 

We will contact couples as soon as possible, should the current Government deadlines change, resulting in your date being affected. However we do need to retain fluidity and this timescale may be subject to change as the pandemic progresses and government approach changes. We are unable to accept any postponements outside of the team contacting you, but we will do our best to keep you updated as soon as we are given any further guidance or insights. We’d like to thank you for your continued patience at this time whilst we work as rapidly as we can to administer the changes. We hope you can appreciate and understand this is the fairest way to work through this unprecedented situation. We will be in contact as soon as we possibly can to offer you a postponement date should your current wedding date be directly affected.

Now that we have received confirmation that weddings can go ahead to full capacity as of 21st June 2021, we are so pleased that your wedding plans are back on track. Planning Meetings

As our team is working remotely during lockdown, we may need to conduct your planning meetings virtually via video call or telephone. Your allocated event manager will be in touch to arrange a planning meeting appointment that suits you.

At this time, planning meetings will need to take place around 2 months before your wedding date to discuss all of your wedding details. Please do not hesitate to contact us via email if you wish to ask any queries prior to your meeting.

Viewings & New Bookings

We are able to undertake private viewings of The West Mill Venue for those wishing to marry in 2022 and beyond.
