COVID-19 UPDATE

We are pleased to announce that we are now able to undertake private, socially distanced viewings of The West Mill Venue for those wishing to marry in 2022 and beyond.

Request a Viewing Here

Understandably, we are being presented with many queries and worries around the possibility of how weddings will commence under the current restrictions of social distancing and quantities of social gatherings that could continue to be enforced by the Government.

We are now hosting smaller weddings for 15 guests under the most recent Government Guidance, and it feels great to welcome back our wonderful couples, and their guests, back to the West Mill Venue.

We are continuing to work with our couples to provide them with alternative solutions for their wedding day, for those that do not feel a wedding day under the current restrictions would be suitable for them, based on the most recent Government Guidance. As the Government has predicted the current restrictions that were announced on the 22nd September 2020 may be in place for the next 6 months, we can confirm that we are going to work with our Janaury 2021, February 2021 and March 2021 couples, finding them alternative solutions for their wedding days. At this time, we are unable to speculate on how these current restrictions may be lifted further into 2021, as the possible future outcomes are endless. We undertsand this does make wedding planning extremely hard at this time, but our utmost priority is making sure our couples, their guests and our staff are safe and we will communicate any updates as soon as we possibly can.

So what happens now…?

We are keeping up to date with the current Government guidance and whilst this does make decision making extremely hard, our utmost priority is making sure our couples, their guests and our staff are safe and we will communicate any updates as soon as we possibly can.

Booked Weddings

Due to the amount of weddings we have booked, we have to work as fairly and methodically as we can. Therefore, the team are contacting our couples in a chronological date order as to whether they’d like to continue or explore alternative options for their wedding.

As of 22nd September 2020, wedding ceremonies and wedding breakfasts are allowed to take place with 15 guests, and we are now able to host weddings for 15 guests should our couples like to continue with their original wedding date. However, we appreciate this reduced wedding option may not be the wedding day originally planned, and would not be suitable for all of our couples. Therefore, should your wedding be confirmed as being directly affected by our closure or limitations of our ability to operate, we will contact you in a chronological date order with as much notice as possible prior to your wedding date to discuss the available options. We will continue to postpone weddings for as long as the current global situation dictates that this is a necessary measure.

Our current target is to contact people approximately 8 weeks in advance wherever possible, however we do need to retain fluidity and this timescale may be subject to change as the pandemic progresses and government approach changes. We will keep you updated as soon as we are given any further guidance or insights.

We’d like to thank you for your continued patience at this time whilst we work as rapidly as we can to administer the changes. We hope you can appreciate and understand this is the fairest way to work through this unprecedented situation. We will be in contact as soon as we possibly can to offer you a postponement date should your current wedding date be directly affected so we can get your wedding plans back on track.

Planning Meetings

As our team is mainly working remotely during lockdown, we may need to conduct your planning meetings virtually via video call or telephone. Your allocated event manager will be in touch to arrange a planning meeting appointment that suits you.

At this time, planning meetings will need to take place around 2 months before your wedding date to discuss all of your wedding details. Please do not hesitate to contact us via email if you wish to ask any queries prior to your meeting.

If you would like to familiarise yourself with the venue, we may be able to arrange a tour for you at a time that suits you. Drop us an email at events@thewestmillvenue.com
